NeverSeconds blogger Martha Payne school dinner photo ban lifted

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-18454800

Martha Payne was prevented putting pictures of her school meals on the internet. The 9-year old put a 'food-o-meter' and rating alongside every meal she ate and photographed at school. Her head teacher took the girl to her office and was told she could no longer post pictures because of a headline in the newspaper. Martha’s father said that "It is a shame that a blog that today went through two million hits, which has inspired debates at home and abroad and raised nearly £2,000 for charity is forced to end." Although the blog was prohibited by the Argyll and Bute council Martha still enjoys going into lunch. Later the council leader said he instructed to lift the ban.

Flabbergasted by the fact that a council is willing to lay down the law on a 9 year old girl posting photographs of school meals. It seems they have something to hide. The council claims Martha’s blogs are causing catering staff to lose their jobs which is ridiculous. It is probably too confronting for them to see pictures of these horrendous meals. I was pleasantly surprised to read that Jamie Oliver supported Martha’s food-o-meter and that the ban was finally lifted under the duress of the public.
