The adoring elderly couple Marie and George Lyons married just after their
16th birthdays and now celebrate their 50th anniversary. They met when they were 14, and fell madly in love in an
instant. Although they faced many people claiming their relationship would
never last, they obviously were wrong. The couple knew all along that their
love would last forever and they both agree on the fact that love can conquer
everything. Their son Tony also celebrates a landmark wedding anniversary, but
his is “only” 30 years. The entire Lyons family, including children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, is planning on celebrating these dates
in Marie and George’s garden.

'They said it would never last': Youngest couple who married days after their 16th birthdays are to celebrate their golden wedding
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2159776/Britains-youngest-couple-celebrate-golden-wedding-married-days-16th-birthdays.html
What a picture perfect world! Super sweet, but not every couple claiming that they were meant for each other actually survives 50 years of marriage. It's something to aspire to, but not many will actually make it to 50, or 30, or even 10. I hope this couple makes it to a 100 years, as a matter of speaking.
James Corden to play Paul Potts in new film
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/4374847/James-Corden-to-play-Paul-Potts-in-new-film.html
James Corden actually has some
physical resemblance to Paul Potts. Katy Perry however does not look like Paul
Potts’ wife Julie-Ann at all. I wonder if the movie is going to be a hit. I
actually do not believe that people are eager to watch a movie on Paul Potts.
School needle stabbing rampage
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/insulin-needle-attack-boy-14-884645
A schoolboy from Toot Hill school in Bingham, Notts was arrested for
stabbing over 20 of his classmates and inflicting small injuries to most of
them. The 14-year-old went to play a
bizarre game and reportedly went crazy using a diabetic pen. He assaulted his
fellow pupils with the needle, but the chances of them suffering from something
serious is slim, according to health agencies. The pupil has been suspended since
the attach and is under investigation. Some parents accused the school of not
handling adequately, at which the school opposes by stating the handled things appropriately
without causing unnecessary anxiety.
These kinds of
events makes you wonder what the world has come to. This is such a bizarre, out
of this world train of events that I can not comprehend what urges a 14 year
old boy to act out this way and cause these kinds of atrocities.
Nancy Cameron mix-up stirs scorn and sympathy for PM
A number of parents speak up and speak out their sympathy for David and Samantha Cameron after leaving their 8 year old daughter after visiting a pub near Chequers. The couple had lunch at the pub and left, thinking all of 3 of the children were accounted for. Mrs Cameron thought Nancy sat in the car with her father, and David Cameron thought she was with her mother. Some people who experienced the same sympathize with the PM and others can not imagine ever leaving their child somewhere. The opposition mock the Pm by commenting on how he can run an economy not even being able to count to three.
This example of
leaving a child behind somewhere is totally irrelevant to one parent leaving his
or her child. In this case the PM believed his daughter was in the safe hand of
her mother, and her mother thought the exact same thing. It is not that they
completely forgot about their child, they were just under the assumption the
other parent joined her.
London 2012 Olympics: how to stay in the capital for free
http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2012/jun/14/london2012-how-to-stay-london-for-free
A guide to stay in an expensive part of London during the Olympic games without paying anything. House sitting company Trusted Housesitters says people are waiting to get their Olympic tickets and consequently look for housing for this period in the summer. Several types of housing is being offered, and you only pay the sign-up fee to register. The homes are for free. There is a downside, because most houses are being offered because the owners are looking for someone to mind their pets, but if you’re allergic or just do not want to babysit pets there are other options listed in the article.
The option of house sitting is not a bad idea, not only for the Olympic games, but for my stay abroad too. I had an inkling this might actually work for other students. Why would it not be able to work? These houses are offered even to foreigners, in my opinion an English student trying to get a teachers degree will probably have one step ahead of others. I have already put this link in my browser’s favorites.
Shakespeare lessons for three year olds
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-18394927
The Shakespeare Globe theatre's education department are
trying to appeal to children as young as three to explore the play The Tempest.
Although the play will probably interest children more in a visual manner than
verbally, the main objective of this project is to get children excited and have
them listening to words they might even not fully comprehend. The original text
will be used, but props like puppets are used to make it understandable. The
Globe’s Mrs Tildesley says that Shakespeare can be explored in numerous ways
and by various audiences, even young children like these nursery-age children.
If
performed at a comprehensible level, I think plays like these can absolutely be
suitable for children. As long as you do not expect them to fully understand
the words or context they will certainly learn from it. It might seem a bit
farfetched but well executed it certainly serves a purpose, and it is worth the
try. It does not hurt anyone, everyone can enjoy the benefit of this type of
extra-curricular activities.
Bed-bound Sergei Zolotovsky jailed for murders
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-18459279
Sergei Zolotovsky, a welder from Russia
aged 44, stabbed Svetlana Zolotovska, 40, while she was walking to work in East
London. Then he murdered Antonina Belska, 70, and made an attempt to end his
own life. In prison he made a second attempt which left him paralysed and
therefor was allowed to show up in court while in bed. The reason for the
murders are that he felt that his wife had taken everything after their divorce,
in his view she was a sinner. Not content by just murdering his wife he also
killed his mother in law. Within half an hour he was convicted of these murders.
During sentencing statement were read from family members of both victims.
A vicious
creature, which does not even deserve the title of a human being, killing his ex wife in
cold blood should be sentenced within a minute, not even taking half an hour.
If the evidence is overwhelming one should not hesitate to put this man in prison for the rest of his
life. Although paralysed, he gained no sympathy from the jury what so ever. In
my opinion that is rightfully so.
