Prime Minister David
Cameron says kids should be banned from watching certain sexy music videos.
Videos by Rihanna, Beyonce and Katy Perry are to explicit for kids to be seen. PM
wants to have videos and other footage certified and deemed suitable for
younger viewers, he attempts to ban these videos in order to prevent
sexualisation amongst youngsters. Talks
with the music industry will be held in order to get the industry to show
appropriate types of clips. Some
parents have expressed their concern about the influence and impact which these
sexy videos have. Boys are susceptible and parents believe they might show
inappropriate behavior towards women because that is what is shown in the
videos. Many industries have responded by putting an age appropriate rating on the
their films etc. The only industry not, yet, responding to the debate and
recommendation by the PM is the music industry.
If the Prime Minister thinks that sexy music videos should be banned, he should ban the internet altogether. Everywhere on the internet kids these days can find porn much worse than the average Rihanna video. I do agree parental supervision is needed, but an entire ban is out of proportion.
